Weekend Race Summary: UCI MTB World Cup Les Gets 2025 DHI / XCO

Last weekend we were in Les Gets WC, the last World Cup round before the World Championships in Switzerland. The race was marked by extreme weather conditions: heavy rain throughout the weekend left the track muddy and almost unrideable during practice, making it a highly technical and unpredictable challenge for all riders.

In downhill, we witnessed strong performances, especially from YT MOB,  Frameworks Racing, and their development team Future Frameworks.

  • Junior Women: Zana Logar (Future Frameworks) finished 8th.
  • Junior Men: Asa Vermette (Frameworks Racing) delivered a stunning performance, battling head-to-head with the Commencal riders, and secured a well-deserved 2nd place. Other Future Frameworks results: Lucas Deodora (8th), Vinny DeVay (15th).Luke Miller (The Outlet Way ) placed 16th.
  • Elite Women: Anna Newkirk (Frameworks Racing), back from injury after a broken finger sidelined her for two months, achieved her first goal by making it into the finals and went on to finish 10th.
  • Elite Men: Big celebration for YT MOB, with Andreas Kolb taking the long-awaited podium spot in 3rd place.
  • Oisin O’Callaghan and Thibaut Daprela both suffered crashes, finishing 29th and 30th, respectively.
  • Aaron Gwin narrowly missed the finals by just two seconds, caught out by the ever-changing lines and deep ruts on the treacherous track.

  • In cross-country, top results with Berta (5th) and Azzaro (7th), plus a Top 10 for Teusen in U23.

All eyes now turn to the World Championships in Champéry this week for downhill, where Asa Vermette arrives in super form, and both YT MOB and Frameworks are strong podium contenders. The cross-country World Championships will follow a week later in Switzerland, where Mathias Azzaro and Martina Berta look set to fight for medals given their impressive form at Les Gets.
