Asa Vermette Wins Redbull Hardline
We want to give a massive congratulations to Asa Vermette for his win at Red Bull Hardline Wales 2025. The 18‑year‑old American and reigning 2024 Junior World Champion, made his first ever trip to the Wales course after a runner‑up finish at Hardline Tasmania earlier in the year. Despite challenging rain‑slick conditions, Vermette posted the fastest seeding time: 2:29.063, ahead of other top contenders such as Tuhoto‑Ariki Pene, Charlie Hatton, and Laurie Greenland. As the last rider to drop on finals day, Vermette knew the time to beat was 2:26.158, set earlier by Charlie Hatton, who had displaced defending champ Ronan Dunne from the hot seat. Vermette delivered a flawless, flat‑out descending assault—improving on his qualifying time by nearly 4.6 seconds—to post a final time of 2:24.477 and seal the victory over Hatton by 1.681 seconds.
Asa became the youngest-ever winner of Red Bull Hardline, surpassing previous record-holder Jackson Goldstone, and marked his second top‑two finish in as many Hardline appearances in 2025. We cannot wait to see what more this young man has in store for us over his career.
“The run was probably one of the sketchiest ones that I’ve done all week… I felt like I was all over the place, but I’m stoked... on top of the world” - Asa Vermette
