TRP opened the first round of the 2019 World Cup downhill season in Maribor, Slovenia on April 27-28 with four teams —Commencal-100%, Intense Factory Racing, Scott DH Factory and YT Mob. These four TRP teams are competing on the circuit with both brakes and drivetrain components, while additional teams are riding with brakes only, including InSync Racing and Pivot Germany. These athletes are a cornerstone of the TRP development process and will be racing and testing a variety of in-line and prototype TRP components throughout the season.
4th place – Marine Cabirou/Scott DH Factory, Women’s Elite.
6th place Aaron Gwin/Intense Factory Racing, Men’s Elite.
11th place Dean Lucas/Scott DH Factory, Men’s Elite.
Riders universally loved the Maribor track, which has been off the World Cup circuit for nine years. The track is highlighted by its raw terrain and natural flow. It was the dirt, however, that had the riders pumped up. The organic soil dried out quickly from the short bursts of rain that threatened the weekend and ultimately offered excellent traction that rewarded the riders willing to carry speed and push hard through the corners.
Men’s Elite winner: 53.8km/h
Women’s Elite winner: 48km/h
Juniors: 52.8 km/h
As part of leading into the Maribor DH World Cup, Intense Factory Racing athlete, Neko Mulally, took over to TRP’s Instagram account. A review of Neko’s take over can be seen here, as part of the story section of TRP’s Instagram account.
